Napa's Backyard is an annual culinary celebration that brings Napa's wine country to Reno. Guests in attendance will be served delicious food and wine pairings prepared by Charlie Palmer Executive Chefs and other renowned chefs. Proceeds to benefit Care Chest.

- The Event kicks off in an relaxed but elegant setting poolside at The Beach.
- Guests will have the opportunity to visit culinary vendors, meet the chefs and browse the valuable silent auction items set up to benefit Care Chest of Northern Nevada.
- Over 20 renowned chefs will compete for the crown of "Napa's Backyard". Chefs will be judged by taste and presentation by their peers and attending guests.

One of the best fights Reno has seen! In front of a sold out crowd at Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, NV Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing and Let’s Get It On Promotions put together an action packed card on ESPN’s “Friday Night Fights” headlined by Curtis “Showtime” Stevens, taking on Jesse Brinkley in an Official IBF eliminator for the number two ranking in the super middleweight division.
Results:
- Curtis Stevens came out swinging and aggressively landed some early blows against Brinkley. However, Brinkley kept pressing forward and landed some big blows of his own. In the 6th Brinkley caught Steven’s with some big right hands that eventually brought Steven’s to take a knee. In the end Brinkely was awarded a grueling twelve round unanimous decision in what is sure to be an early candidate for fight of the year.
- Brandon “Flawless” Gonzales continues to dominate with a 2nd round KO against Dewey Welliver. With two impressive RXF wins added to his flawless record 10-0, 9KO, Brandon is on his to becoming a boxing star. Brandon is scheduled to fight in RXF III March 19.
- Raymond “Tito” Serrano improved his record to a perfect 12-0, 6KO with a victory over Ronnie Warrior Jr. Serrano has improved much over his last fights brining his speed and combination power to dominate over Ronnie.
- Gaytan stops Montgomery in the second round with a over hand right to gain his first win on his record.

The one-week competition to find the athlete who can conquer the art of surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding has secured new venues & line-up including: the surfing competition at Seaside Reef in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Calif. (San Diego County), Saturday - Tuesday, March 13-16; the snowboarding in Lake Tahoe at Northstar-at-Tahoe™ Resort, Thursday - Friday, March 18-19; and skateboarding contest at Grand Sierra Resort & Casino Reno, NV, Saturday March 20. Following the skate finals and awards ceremony on Saturday, March 20, a live concert with Pennywise and TSOL at Grand Sierra Resort and Casino..
“The momentum of Ultimate Boarder going into its 3rd year reflects the evolving ways that fans and athletes engage in sports today,” said Tim Hoover, Founder & CEO of Ultimate Boarder. “Last year’s event proved to be phenomenal, with huge support from both sponsors and the surf-skate-snow community. After the inaugural Ultimate Boarder event in 2008, the event was named the “Best New Sports Event of the Year” by SportsTravel Magazine and heralded by media such as the New York Times. The idea to establish the best-of-the-best in snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing has caught heightened interest by the fans of the three disciplines too – many of whom often dabble in or follow more than one board sport.
The Ultimate Boarder Championship includes individual and team competition, and starting this year will be the addition of a new category with an Under-16 youth team division, with FlexFit offering $5000 for the 1st place winner.

Go Karts
Hop in a half-scale NASCAR replica racer and take 30-mph turns around a 400-foot oval racetrack. Or try your luck in a more traditional, open-topped go kart on a 900-foot road course. Luckily, it's not all about speed at this piston-friendly park — a family-oriented track is also available where the go karts are slower and the turns aren't as extreme.
Miniature Golf

Ultimate Rush Thrill Park
Take the most thrilling aspects of hang-gliding, the most perilous moments of bungee jumping and the adrenaline inducement of sky diving. Combine these elements with a fall from a 185-foot tower and you have the once-in-a-lifetime experience we call the Ultimate Rush. Three jumpers can be tethered to the same elastic wire, allowing you to share the fright with your friends or family.

A packed house roared for its favorite fighters in the Grand Theatre for the inaugural Reno Xtreme Fights (RXF), presented by Let’s Get It On Promotions, Star Boxing and Xtreme Sports Bar + Lounge. Reno Xtreme Fights is a unique series of fights that features both world-class professional boxing and mixed martial arts.
Undefeated middleweight Brandon “Flawless” Gonzales 10-0, 9 KOs held his unblemished status with a KTO against Victor Villeral of Denver, who had never been knocked out.

- MMA: Buddy Roberts (Reno) TKOd Alijah Reni (Sacramento) in the first round.
- Boxing: Paul Mendez (Bakersfield, Calif.) was the winner by split decision in his fight against Derek Hinkey (McDermitt, Nev.).
- MMA: Kito Andrews (Sacramento) was victorious in a second-round KO against Ashe Bowman (Reno).
- Boxing: Brandon Gonzalez (Sacramento) remained undefeated with a TKO in the fourth round against Victor Villereal (Denver.
In between each round, the crowd applauded its top pick for the hottest Xtreme Ring Girl. The winner, Andrea Klink (Reno), won $500, a RXF commercial spot and is the official Xtreme Ring Girl for RXF II on Jan. 29.
The 2010 Winter Olympics takes over at Xtreme Sports Bar + Lounge in side the Grand Sierra Resort. Watch your favorite events on 40 HD screens including the MEGA SCREEN.
The Games Kick-off
The opening ceremony kicks off at 2pm PST on February 12th and concludes on February 28th.

Opening for LMFAO are Jump Smokers and Dj Loczi with Chris Clouse. Keep the party going into Sunday, January 17 with the all night hot pool party at The Beach.The Pool party is 21+ but the concert is an all ages show. We’re heating up the out door pool to a steamy 100+ degrees as part of the Winter Break festivities.
