Married in Spring: A Guide for a Great Wedding at Grand Sierra Resort

Have Perfect Timing When the Time Isn’t Perfect

Often considered the off-season for weddings, spring is a great time to save money with vendors and venues!

Spring is unexpected! It’s a jump-start on the wedding season — full of promise with the excitement of warmer months ahead and the perfect opportunity to incorporate beautiful seasonal flowers while enjoying the “off-peak” prices.

We know some can take up to two years organizing their wedding while others like to make it happen fast. Lately, we seem to be getting calls from those who would like to make it a possibility within the next few months.

It’s easy to see…pandemic or not — love is still in the air. Here at GSR, we can make your special day GRAND!

Is It Going to Cost More?

That leads us to the important question, “does it cost more?” In most cases, you will receive the same fees and treatment as others that have had their weddings planned longer.

Just because vendors and other service providers are having shorter notice doesn’t necessarily mean that it will cost more. You will not typically see “rush” fees from your vendors, venues, or florists.

We do ask that you keep in mind it may be a different story for buying plane tickets or shipping attire last minute. In this regard, it would be best to have a plan in place to avoid those rush fees.

“Covid or no Covid – Couples still want to get married and stay within current mandatory guidelines. Love still prevails and weddings are most definitely still taking place!”

Catering in Covid

“It’s an unprecedented time to plan a wedding, that’s why leaning on our professional wedding staff to help you navigate through the COVID complexities is the perfect solution,” Senior Event Sales Manager Jennifer Powers says.

“From selecting the perfect officiant to finding the perfect cake flavor; we are here to help you every step of the way. And at the same time keeping you and your loved ones safe!”

Be Flexible & Creative

You may have come to notice that most popular wedding locations can be reserved up to over a year in advance. Be sure to open your mind to different dates and times.

For example, it may be easier to find and secure a place on a Friday or Sunday – or even earlier in the day. The more flexible and creative you can get with your alternatives, the happier you will be with the end result!

We all know how frustrating all facets of a wedding can be. Please remember to take a step back and enjoy it. It’s your special day and we are here to help! Stress is normal. All across the board, from east coast to west coast, we find this to be one of the most important factors.

“Brides who have gotten their wedding together in six months or less have told me they actually enjoyed the process. They had less time to stress out and find the preparations surprisingly exciting,” Christine Paul of Christine Paul Events in New York says.
