Founded by frontman Billy Corgan in 1988, The Smashing Pumpkins emerged from the underground music scene of Chicago to become one of the most influential bands of the 1990s alternative rock era. With a unique blend of introspective lyrics, dynamic guitar-driven melodies and innovative production, The Smashing Pumpkins quickly gained a devoted following. Notable hits include “Today,” “1979,” “Bullet with Butterfly Wings” and “Tonight, Tonight.”

Since their groundbreaking debut with “Gish” (1991), The Smashing Pumpkins have continually pushed the boundaries of musical innovation. From the seismic impact of “Siamese Dream” (1993) to the Grammy-nominated opus “Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness” (1995), their journey has been one of evolution and reinvention. With albums like “Adore” (1998), “Machina/The Machines of God” (2000) and “Oceania” (2012), they've maintained their status as trailblazers in the industry.

Joining The Smashing Pumpkins on the Grand Theatre stage is The Glorious Sons, a Canadian rock band known for their gritty, soulful sound. The band's breakthrough came with their debut album, “The Union” (2014), which featured hit singles such as “Heavy” and “Mama.” Their sophomore album, “Young Beauties and Fools” (2017), earned critical acclaim and won the Juno Award for Rock Album of the Year in 2018. The album's lead single, “Everything Is Alright,” topped the Canadian rock charts and further solidified the band's reputation as a powerhouse in the genre. Doors open at 7 p.m.
