RENO, Nev. (March 31, 2026) – Grand Sierra Resort (GSR) announces legendary norteño band Los Huracanes del Norte will bring their extensive catalog of hits to the acclaimed Grand Theatre on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 8 p.m.

With more than 40 years at the top of the regional Mexican music scene and a discography of more than 50 albums, Los Huracanes del Norte are widely recognized as one of música norteña’s most influential groups. Originally from Michoacán, Mexico, the band established their career in San Jose, Calif.a, where they developed their signature sound and loyal following. The group rose to prominence in the 1970s with early releases like “Corrido de Daniel Treviño” and their breakthrough album “La Musiquera,” which earned them their first gold record and launched them onto the national stage.

As their popularity grew, Los Huracanes del Norte expanded their touring reach across the United States, Mexico and Central America, becoming known for their dynamic performances and storytelling style. By the 1990s, they regularly sold out arenas, while a string of successful releases continued to dominate Billboard’s Regional Mexican and Latin Album charts. They continued their success, releasing projects such as “Puro Pa’ Arriba,” “En Vivo Desde Monterrey,” “Como Un Huracán” and “Alma Bohemia,” further cementing their status as enduring leaders of the genre.
