A full overview of the GSR Clean program may be found here.

Whitney has four stand-up specials currently streaming, including her most recent Netflix special “Can I Touch It?” which features Whitney’s take on everything from her signature incisive commentary on gender dynamics to why we should give sex robots a chance. She is best known for creating and starring in the NBC series “Whitney” as well as co-creating & co-writing the Emmy-nominated CBS comedy series “2 Broke Girls” (with Michael Patrick King). Having had to reschedule her solo How Dare You tour dates due to the pandemic, Whitney has been staying busy with her self-produced “Good For You” podcast which features the comedian interviewing friends and experts from a variety of fields.

Taylor’s new hour-long Netflix special “Quarter Life Crisis” debuted in February 2020, and she has spent much of the last year filling clubs across the country on her own headlining tour. She has made multiple appearances on Conan and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and Variety Magazine named her one of the Top 10 Comics to Watch at the Just for Laughs Festival. Along with Delanie Fischer and Kelsey Cook, Taylor also co-hosts Self-Helpless, an iTunes Top 100 podcast that combines hilarious send-ups of self-help books, trends, and more with genuine explorations and buy-in from the hosts.

Plan your Grand Escape: Top 10 things to love about Reno-Tahoe’s premier casino-resort

RENO, Nev. (Oct. 6, 2020) – From one-of-a-kind attractions and picturesque pools to delicious dining options and incredible art installations, there’s so much more to Grand Sierra Resort and Casino (GSR) beyond the casino floor.

In Bloom  Gracing the resort’s front entrance, “The Blossom” is a one-of-a-kind creation that took more than 18 months to design, engineer and manufacture. Assembled on a custom-built steel structure, the chandelier spans 36 feet, weighs over 16,500 pounds and features 480 spotlights plus 5,000 LED lights that utilize a total of 10,500 watts. With more than 600,000 Egyptian crystals hand-knit into the sculpted brass frame structure, the design was inspired by the beauty and symbolism of the Sakura, or Japanese cherry blossom. In Japanese culture, cherry blossoms evoke purity, renewal and are a sign of wealth and good luck. Accompanying “The Blossom” is a spectacular mosaic tile floor, made up of more than 135,000 hand-laid tiles which were installed in 407 sections.

Additionally, the 19 crystal butterflies adorning the chandelier and laid into the mosaic tile floor, symbolize the significance of the prime number. Nineteen is an auspicious number that represents success and honor in Chinese numerology. The number is also associated with Kuan Yin, the goddess of mercy and compassion and one of the most popular goddesses in Asian culture. Closer to home, the inclusion of the 19 butterflies references the importance of the number in Nevada history as March 19, 1931 is the date the State legalized gambling.  “The Blossom” was designed by Nancy Paolino of Innovativo Design, who has led the design of the resort’s ongoing $175 million transformation. Please click here to view “The Blossom” in more detail.

Splash Year Round The Pool at GSR is the ultimate destination to escape and unwind in a lavish resort setting all year round. From the stunning Resort Pool to the exclusive Infinity and Serenity Pools to the Splash Pad playground, there’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy the long lazy days of summer.  As the temperature drops, the fun doesn’t stop. When the seasons change, The Pool still beckons with hot tubs, fire pits, and The Ice Rink. The Ice Rink is the coolest place in Reno to skate every winter and is open to the public and hotel guests alike. The Ice Rink features 8,000 square feet of ice, offering plenty of room to skate to your heart’s content while taking in the cool winter air and stunning mountain views.

And, don’t miss the most recent addition to The Pool at GSR – Millie the Duck, a 12-foot-tall duck sculpture who recently arrived at GSR from the resort’s sister property, SAHARA Las Vegas. Millie was named after Mill Street, GSR’s street address, and is in the process of being repainted by renowned artist, Alexander Mijares. Stop by to snap a selfie with Millie the next time you’re at The Pool!

Home, Suite Home!

The suite life doesn’t get grander than this. Grand Sierra Resort offers suite hotel rooms filled with luxurious furnishings, elegant décor, pampering amenities, premium service and sweeping views. Guests have a choice of open floor layouts to entertain friends, celebrate or simply relax, ranging from the 791-square-foot Executive suites to the spectacular Chairman suite, with an astounding 2,110 square feet of space.

Going to the Chapel

Did you know that GSR is home to the largest wedding chapel in northern Nevada? The Grand Wedding Chapel provides an upscale, sophisticated and elegant wedding venue with room to accommodate more intimate groups for micro-weddings, as well as larger events up to 175 people. Featuring state-of-the-art bride and groom lounges, there are many options available for wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, bachelor and bachelorette parties, spa packages, honeymoon hotel suites, and LEX Nightclub Table packages.

Family Fun

Whether you’re a kid, or a kid at heart, GSR offers plenty of places for the whole family to play. Grand Adventure Land is an outdoor family fun adventure park that includes go-karts with four different tracks and the Ultimate Rush thrill ride. Also outside is the Grand Bay Driving Range, featuring eight islands dotted along a large body of water, each varying in distance and difficulty. Inside, check out Fun Quest, a kid-friendly entertainment space featuring 40,000 square feet of games and attractions as well as party rooms, laser tag, carnival and arcade games, a Toddler Zone, Bumper Cars and Tumble Town climbing structure. Whether it’s a strike, spare or just pinning down a good time, the Bowling Center has 50 lanes with computerized scoring along with league bowling, professional instruction, full center buy-out reservations and nightly specials. Home of the first Zero Latency, free-roaming virtual reality (VR) experience in northern Nevada, the Max Action Arena also features an XD Theatre – a unique 5D thrill ride that allows participants to experience wind, surround sound and is capable of more than 100 movements a second with up to two Gs of acceleration to create heart-pounding adventure, along with Bad Axe – axe throwing in a controlled and safe environment to sharpen skills and throw real axes. Or, check out Reno’s number one escape room, Break Through Reno, located across from Fun Quest on the Spa Level.

Jet Set Grand Sierra Resort is home to the Grand Theatre, one of the world’s largest indoor stages with more than a full acre of usable space. The 2,700-seat theater was first constructed to host MGM’s long-running, large-scale theatrical production “Hello Hollywood, Hello,” which ran from 1978 to 1987. The stage is so large that a centerpiece prop from the show, an iconic plane which boasts an impressive 80-foot wingspan, is still stored backstage. It’s too large to fit through the theater’s rear access doors! And, if you are lucky enough to find yourself backstage, take a look at the Wall of Fame, signed by GRAMMY Award-winning musicians, artists and well-known celebrities from Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin to Snoop Dogg and Billy Idol who have all performed at GSR over the years.

Take a Page out of our Sports Book

Northern Nevada’s largest race and sports book, William Hill Race & Sports Book, features 14,200- square-feet of ultimate viewing and betting experience with two separate VIP areas, private viewing, cocktail service and VIP restrooms.  With 76 televisions, state-of-the-art JBL sound system with multimedia Creston controls in VIP areas, a full bar including draft and craft beers, a hot dog cart with stadium snacks and over 750 seats between the race, sports and VIP area, GSR is the hot spot for any game day.

Find Me in ‘Da Club  LEX Nightclub is the premier nightclub in northern Nevada, rivaling the country’s top nightlife venues in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York. At 25,000 square feet, LEX is unmatched anywhere in the region, featuring three full bars, 40 VIP tables and a transparent dance floor elevated above a unique indoor water feature. The luxurious nightlife destination also boasts a multi-million-dollar state-of-the-art lighting and sound system that has provided an unforgettable setting for a number of today’s biggest names in entertainment including DJ Mustard, G-Eazy, Kaskade, Paul Oakenfold, Steve Aoki, The Chainsmokers, Tiesto, Trey Songz, Marshmallow and many, many more. Whether you’re visiting for a world- famous DJ, or simply celebrating good times with friends, LEX Nightclub is your ticket to a top night out.

That’s the Spirit!  It’s your favorite theme park treat, adult style! And, GSR is the only place you can find it in northern Nevada. Savor pineapple soft serve combined with Casamigos Reposado Tequila for the ultimate sweet treat in the Dole Whip Margarita, available exclusively at Uno Mas. With lush furnishings, premium bar service, and a selection of popular gaming machines on hand, the Crystal Lounge is the perfect place to meet and mingle while sipping on cocktails and enjoying some gaming fun. Savor a selection of specially-crafted libations, including the Rosita with Casamigos Mezcal, The Smash with Toki Japanese Whisky, or a Spicy Paloma or Rose Ginger Mule with Effen, while sitting at the custom-made blue agate bar. A full menu of beer, wine and classic cocktails accompanies stunning views of the beautiful champagne crystals that drape in an elegant waterfall effect from the floating wood ceilings. Boasting a total of 357 linear feet of crystal drape and 66,680 individual crystals, this ultra-lounge experience is not to be missed.

Park it Right Here

When it’s time to unhitch and unwind after a long day exploring Reno-Tahoe, effortlessly glide your RV motorhome into a fully powered, spacious site. Then kick back and enjoy a little luxury, GSR style. Just a short walk from the property, the Grand Sierra RV Park offers all the practical conveniences you need – like a general store, laundry room, restroom and shower facilities, and plus-size pull-through spaces for those big rigs. Options include Premium 50-Amp or 30-Amp Pull-Through Spaces, 30-Amp Pull-Through Spaces, and 30-Foot or 40-Foot Back-In Spaces.

Take in all that GSR has to offer, where leadership recently collaborated with health experts to develop GSR Clean, a program that enhances the resort’s already rigorous sanitation protocols and implements social distance considerations and hundreds of additional practices to minimize risk for guests and team members. Grand Sierra Resort and Casino Reno and SAHARA Las Vegas launch Infinity Rewards joint loyalty program

LAS VEGAS and RENO, Nev. (Sept. 30, 2020) – Loyal patrons of Grand Sierra Resort and Casino Reno (GSR) and SAHARA Las Vegas can now enjoy double the benefits. On Oct. 1, the sister properties will launch the all-new Infinity Rewards joint loyalty program giving players the opportunity to earn and redeem rewards across both destinations.

GSR and SAHARA will utilize the same benefit system for the first time — granting seamless loyalty rewards for members. Infinity Rewards cardholders will be eligible to receive unique benefits at both GSR and SAHARA, receive personalized offers and enjoy one-of-a-kind access to amenities at both resorts including spa services, upgraded rooms and even dinners at popular culinary destinations like the award-winning Bazaar Meat by José Andrés at SAHARA Las Vegas and Charlie Palmer Steak at GSR.

Linking the loyalty programs is yet another step in the ongoing evolution of GSR and SAHARA under Alex Meruelo’s ownership. Since purchasing GSR in 2011, Meruelo has invested more than $250 million in renovations to make GSR northern Nevada’s premier gaming-resort. Meruelo began investing another $150 million in transforming SAHARA upon purchasing the iconic Strip resort in 2018. Investing in the integration and upgrade of the rewards programs to the new Infinity Rewards builds upon the superior experiences players have come to expect from GSR and SAHARA, providing even greater value for their loyalty. Future benefits of the new loyalty program will include entertainment and special access to resort amenities.

Infinity Rewards will replace Club Grand at GSR and Club 52 at SAHARA. Current cardholders in both programs will maintain their tier status in the equivalent Infinity Rewards tier and will not lose points or comps during the transition period. Club Grand and Club 52 member accounts will automatically transfer to Infinity Rewards on Oct. 1, players simply need to pick up their new loyalty card at the Infinity Rewards desk prior to gaming at either property.

Accompanied by a sleek new design featuring six new tier levels and colors, the upgraded Infinity Rewards program comes with improved dining and room discounts, birthday point multipliers, bonus drawing entries and more. Tier levels include Select, Premier, Elite, Legend, Iconic and Infinite. Players keep their tier status for 12 months. Guests who sign up as a new Infinity Rewards member this October can expect to receive an exclusive new member bonus for joining the program.

To find more great deals and promotions across either destination, or to learn more about Infinity Rewards visit grandsierraresort.com and saharalasvegas.com.

Grand Sierra Resort & Casino’s K9 Sahara to receive body armor donation

RENO, Nev. (July 29, 2020) – Grand Sierra Resort & Casino’s (GSR) canine security officer K9 Sahara will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from the nonprofit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.

K9 Sahara is the first four-legged addition to GSR’s security team. The three-year-old Dutch Shepherd from Slovakia has been working side by side with her handler, Officer Keisha Mayes, since 2019 to ensure the safety of all guests. The addition of the canine-handler duo is an integral part of security enhancements underway across the casino-resort and the most noticeable change for guests and team members, who can regularly see and interact with the four-legged employee and her handler on a day-to-day basis.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501c (3) charity located in East Taunton, MA whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. The nonprofit was established in 2009 to assist law enforcement agencies by providing this potentially lifesaving body armor for their four-legged K9 officers. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has delivered over 3,980 U.S. made, custom fitted, NIJ certified protective vests in 50 states through private and corporate donations, at a value of $6.9 million dollars.

The program is open to dogs actively employed in the U.S. with law enforcement or related agencies who are certified and are at least 20 months of age. New K9 graduates, as well as K9s with expired vests, are eligible to participate.

The donation to provide one protective vest for a law enforcement K9 is $960. Each vest has a value between $1,744 and $2,283 and a five-year warranty, and an average weight of four to five pounds. There are an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States. For more information or to learn about volunteer opportunities, please call 508-824-6978. Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. provides information, lists events, and accepts tax-deductible donations of any denomination at www.vik9s.org or mailed to P.O. Box 9 East Taunton, MA 02718.

K9 Sahara’s vest, which is expected to be delivered within eight to 10 weeks, will be embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of K9 Jethro, Canton, OH Police Department.”
