GSR Rock Concert Outfits 101: Dressing for a KISS Show

It’s sure to be a Crazy Crazy Night as KISS ignites Grand Sierra Resort’s Grand Theater for one unforgettable performance on April 21, 2017. If you’re part of the KISS Army, you know that fans of America’s No. 1 Gold Record Award winning group have a dress code of sorts.

Want to own that hard rock, heavy metal, glam-rock look? Here’s how:

Just believe that God Gave Rock ‘N Roll to You, and you’ll make it work, even if you don’t know hard rock from heavy metal or grunge from goth. Just think casual, classic rocker.

Black or dark jeans rock the look, but no mom jeans. If you can keep it authentic, go for a classic ripped jean.

Ready to hear Love Gun one more time? When it comes to band T-shirts, skip an actual KISS shirt. Wearing a band’s shirt to the concert can be seen as … well … a little over the top. Of course, old-school KISS fans get a pass with an authentic, vintage KISS T-shirt.

Play it safe with a white, black, non-KISS band, or logo tee. Keep it all casual with a leather or industrial-look jacket.

Want the night to last Forever? The right shoes make or break the night. Even if you’re not going for a mosh-pit, head-banging, freestylin’ experience, your KISS concert outfit should keep you on your feet and active.

For a classic rocker look, think moto boots, combat boots, or Dr. Martens. Any dark boots or solid shoes in a dark color win over sandals, flip flops, or backless shoes. Of course, let’s not discount the power of the classic Converse, black if you can, which go just about anywhere.

Beth I hear you calling. Maybe KISS’s studded body armor isn’t your thing. Women’s rock styles run the gamut from edgy, patterned tights and short skirts to casual rock or logo shirts paired with dark jeans.

Accessorize with black rubber bracelets, a leather braid, or a simple black collar instead of a statement necklace, cocktail rings, and long earrings. No one wants an imprint of your bling on their forehead.

Strutter your stuff. Just how glam rock will you go? Spandex-rocker? It’s never wrong to take the attitude “Go big or go home,” but just make sure you rock the entire look if you’re going for the full monty.

If you can’t swing that signature KISS big hair and full costume, vamp up your classic look a bit with black leather, a silver lightning-bolt accessory, or a stud collar accent. Women can easily say “I’m with the band” with heavier eye makeup.

Shout It Out Loud. Should you go for KISS signature face paint? You will not be the only one with the look, but you will definitely stand out. Amazon Prime yourself some black and white stage makeup. Just keep in mind that it might take a little practice.

Do you Love it Loud … but maybe not that loud anymore? Bring a few pairs of earplugs. Stuffing wadded-up tissue in your ears will detract major overall style points. Don’t do it, especially if you’re hoping to raise up a KISS Army from the younger generation.

Before you Call Dr. Love, take care of yourself. Young and old rockers alike … stay hydrated and, of course, designate a driver or book a crash pad in one of GSR’s luxury rooms or suites and make the party last All Night Long.
