The Voice of a Generation
The timeless appeal of Olivia Newton-John - iconic star of stage and screen - shows no signs of abating. With a career spanning more than five decades, the Australian singer, actress and activist is still adored by fans around the globe.
Newton-John's career began in the 1960s with performances on Australian and British variety shows and tours of army bases and clubs throughout the UK and Europe. But her career really took off in 1978 with the release of the world-wide mega hit, Grease. 40 years since its release, the musical smash, co-starring John Travolta, still has audiences singing along word-for-word with Sandy, Danny and the gang. The film’s best-selling soundtrack featured the duets "You’re The One That I Want" and "Summer Nights" with Travolta, and her hit ballad, "Hopelessly Devoted To You." To date Grease remains the most successful movie musical in history.
The much-loved star - who danced with Gene Kelly in Xanadu, was bestowed an O.B.E. (Order Of The British Empire) by Queen Elizabeth in 1979, and is a passionate advocate of many humanitarian causes - has sold more than 100 million albums, won four Grammy awards (plus numerous Country Music, American Music and Peoples Choice Awards), and claims ten Number 1 hits, including the pop sensation “Physical,” which topped the charts for ten consecutive weeks. In 2015, Olivia was ranked #20 on Billboard’s “Greatest of All Time Hot 100 Artists".
Most recently, Newton-John had an acclaimed residency at the Flamingo in Las Vegas with her sell-out show "Summer Nights". Still recording and touring, the songbird's popularity is as strong as ever!
