Steel Panther has gone through several evolutions, starting on the Sunset Strip in the early 00’s under the name Metal Shop, before changing to Metal Skool before their current ideation, Steel Panther. The band is made up of lead vocalist Ralph Saenz, who goes by the stage name of Michael Starr; guitarist Russ Parrish, or “Satchel;” new bassist Joe “Spyder” Lester, and drummer, Darren Leader, “Stix Zadinia.” The band originally started as a parody of the 80s glam metal culture, but has evolved from playing covers to creating their own material.
