Tash Sultana is a genre-shifting indie musician known for their passionate vocals and mastery of multiple instruments and looping pedals. From a young age, Sultana displayed a remarkable talent for music, mastering not only the guitar but also brass, woodwind and percussion instruments. Their insatiable curiosity led them to explore diverse musical genres, blending old-school hard rock and alternative rock influences into their multi-layered compositions.
Sultana first gained international recognition in 2016 with viral live videos showcasing their one-person-band performances. Following this breakout moment, Sultana released their debut EP, “Notion,” in 2016, featuring the guitar-based reggae tune “Jungle.” In 2018, Sultana released their debut album, “Flow State,” which soared to No. 2 on Australia's album chart and introduced a strong R&B influence to their melodic repertoire.
Their sophomore effort, “Terra Firma” (2021), showcased a more mature and grounded outlook. Continuing their musical evolution, Sultana infused soft rock elements into their sound with the release of “James Dean” in 2023, further demonstrating their versatility and creative prowess.
