Formed in Regina, Saskatchewan, The Dead South quickly gained a loyal global following with their signature blend of bluegrass, folk and alternative acoustic sounds. Following extensive touring and live performances, the group released their debut studio album “Good Company” in 2014, spawning their breakout hit “In Hell, I’ll Be in Good Company” and “Banjo Odyssey.” The band followed up quickly with their next album, “Illusion & Doubt” (2016), which marked a distinct evolution in their sound—blending unexpected influences and prominent cello arrangements. The album earned The Dead South a JUNO Award for Traditional Roots Album of the Year. “Sugar & Joy” (2019), the group’s most recent album, continues the band’s gritty storytelling, rich harmonies and unconventional take on traditional roots music.
Their live shows are known for their raw energy, engaging stage presence and distinctive style have led to them selling out tours around the world. With a sound that bridges old-time string band traditions and modern alt-folk influences, The Dead South delivers a concert experience that’s equal parts nostalgic and fresh. Doors open at 7 p.m.
