Grand Sierra Resort Kicks Off Holiday Season With Annual Tree Lighting

RENO, Nev. (Nov. 18, 2025) – Get ready to deck the halls at Grand Sierra Resort’s (GSR) special tree lighting ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 20, marking the start of the holiday season at the resort. Over 130 trees will light up the night sky in this beloved annual tradition that’s fun for all ages.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy an evening of holiday cheer and light refreshments, including hot cocoa, cookies, cider and more. Santa and Mrs. Claus will make a special appearance, greeting families and spreading the holiday spirit. The Depoali Middle School Choir will kick the festivities off with a special performance of holiday carols, starting at 6:30 p.m.

The main event begins at 7 p.m. when GSR team members, the choir and other special guests will light up the Christmas trees around the resort, including the three rooftop trees that adorn the top of the property.

The tree lighting ceremony is free to attend. For more information on holidays at the GSR visit grandsierraresort.com/yourholidayresort.
