Born Francisco Javier Barraza Rodríguez, Pancho Barraza first became involved in Mexican traditional music after moving to Mazatlán and joining a local grupero band as the lead vocalist. He continued to hone his talent as a member of the brass bandas, Banda San Sebastian and Banda Camino. Following a stint as the lead vocalist and songwriter for Banda Los Recoditos, Barraza kick started his solo career with the debut album “Mis Canciones De Amor.” Considered a Mexican regional superstar, Barraza’s songs continue to enjoy success in his homeland and the United States.
