The Double Double craze stems from the extra bonus payoff you get with four-of-a-kind hands accompanied by a “kicker”. A “kicker” is a fifth card that is in the same hand as the four-of-a-kind. Other than that difference, these games are almost the same as Jacks or Better. The increased payouts for those four-of-a-kind hands increases the volatility of the game, so you can expect larger wins (and losses), depending on your skill - and Lady Luck, of course.

The rules for Jacks or Better Video Poker are “straight” to the point: your ultimate goal is to have a hand that includes a pair of jacks or better, just as the name of the game suggests. Simply place your bet and watch as the computer deals you five cards and you select which you want to keep and which you want to discard, depending on potential winning hands. After discarding unwanted cards, you are dealt replacement cards and your final hand decides whether or not you have won that round. The amount you win depends on the amount you bet and how much your winning hand is worth.

Deuces Wild Video Poker has added a bit of a twist to its rules. You guessed it: deuces are wild. Deuces (the two-numbered cards) can be used to make stronger hands which, when played correctly, can increase the likelihood of hitting a winning hand. After placing your bet, you’ll be dealt five cards at random. You can then choose which cards you’d like to discard and which cards you’d like to keep. Always hold onto a deuce because you never know if it might become useful on your next draw. The cards you have thrown away will be replaced and you’ll have your final hand. Your payout will be determined by the amount you bet and the amount your winning hand was worth.
