RENO, Nev. (Jan. 26, 2023) – Nina Sky, the R&B duo of NYC-based identical twin sisters Natalie and Nicole Albino, will deliver a genre-bending set with support from DJ Yo Yolie at LEX Nightclub on Saturday, Feb. 25. Tickets go on sale Thursday, Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. and start at $20, plus additional taxes and fees. Doors open at 10 p.m.
In 2004, recording artists Nicole and Natalie Albino, better known as Nina Sky, blazed the music scene with their unique fusion of hip hop, R&B, pop and reggae. The half-Puerto Rican, half-Dominican sisters partnered with Cipha Sounds, a hip hop DJ with Star Trek record label, to release, “Move Ya Body,” a single off their self-titled debut album. The infectious track, featuring harmonious vocals over the Coolie Dance Riddim, propelled Nina Sky into the spotlight and reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The sisters’ follow-up tracks, “Turning Me On” and “Oye Mi Canto” quickly became club anthems and led to collaborations with Grammy Award-winning artists and producers, including Diplo, Aventura, Sean Paul and Salaam Remi.
The group was enlisted by London-based producer TroyBoi for his 2015 smash hit, “Afterhours,” which appeared on DJ playlists around the globe. In 2016, Nina Sky reconnected with audiences on their first label-supported release since 2004, featuring the lead single “Champion Lover.” This latest work showcases Nina Sky’s dancehall riddim roots with pop-friendly, upbeat tempos and airy vocals. Known for their ever-changing style, the duo continues to hone their artistry and garner global recognition. Recently, Natalie has spearheaded vocals and songwriting while Nicole has focused on developing her DJ skillset, spinning for some of the world’s most iconic brands.
The duo is set to deliver an hour-long DJ set and perform their top hits at LEX Nightclub. DJ Yo Yolie, a Las Vegas resident at Omnia/Hakkasan, is also slated for a support set.
