July Special Events, Dining, Entertainment, Nightlife and Casino Promotions at Grand Sierra Resort and Casino

RENO, Nev. (June 29, 2023) — Grand Sierra Resort and Casino (GSR) is brimming with summer fun this July. Celebrate Independence Day with the Grand Fireworks Spectacular and other Fourth of July weekend activities, indulge in seafood creations at the Grand Buffet and hit the casino floor for a wide array of gaming promotions. Plus, enjoy a variety of sizzling nightlife as well as performances by top artists, including Brian McKnight, Melissa Etheridge, Sean Kingston, Blues Traveler and many more.

Special Events
Fourth of July Weekend
GSR is the epicenter of Independence Day festivities! The celebration will kick off on Friday, June 30 with sizzling nightlife action at Vive Fridays in LEX Lounge at 7 p.m. and Late Night Swim at 10 p.m., where DJ Shabazz will be spinning party tunes. On Saturday, July 1 at 10 p.m., country music dance band Rick Hays & American Steel will perform at Chickie's & Pete’s, and DJ Yo Yolie will bring the party to LEX Nightclub. Plus, DJ Rekoh Suave will keep the energy going all weekend with DJ-hosted music at Crystal Lounge from Friday, June 30 through Monday, July 3 at 9 p.m. each night.

On Sunday, July 2, GSR will host the third annual Grand Fireworks Spectacular over Grand Bay beginning at dusk (approximately 9:15 p.m.). The best viewing locations are on the south side of the casino-resort facing Grand Bay and at The Pool. Fun for the entire family, entry to The Pool is $25 per person for non-hotel guests, and a special BBQ meal will be available for purchase.

Late Night Swim (LNS) | Every Friday | The Pool
GSR’s ultimate late-night pool party is returning better than ever. Every Friday night during the regular pool season, Late Night Swim (LNS) will rock The Pool at GSR with bottle service presentation, tantalizing drink specials and a dynamic lineup of the hottest performers and DJs, including DJ Konstantina Gianni, DJ Angie Vee, DJ Jen Jones, DJ Jaymee Baby, DJ Shabazz, Louie Giovanni, DJ Skywidit, DJ Amen and more to come. Cabanas are available for reservation based on availability. Entry for ladies is complimentary, and admission for all other guests starts at $20, plus additional taxes and fees. Guests must be 21 years or older to attend.

Seafood Buffet | Friday, July 14–Sunday, July 16 | The Grand Buffet
Indulge in an ocean of flavors at the special all-you-can-eat seafood buffet. Infinity Rewards Members can enjoy an array of seafood favorites, including decadent lobster, succulent shrimp, lobster mac & cheese and much more. Head to The Grand Buffet on Friday, July 14 from 5 to 9 p.m. or Saturday, July 15 through Sunday, July 16 from 4 to 9 p.m. to savor this seafood feast. In the ever-changing landscape of the entertainment industry, McKnight has established himself as a mainstay in the contemporary R&B scene with over two decades of record-charting releases. In addition to his famed belting range and soulful lyrics, McKnight is skilled on piano, guitar, bass, drums, trombone, tuba, french horn and trumpet. Melissa Etheridge | Saturday, July 8 at 8 p.m. | Grand Theatre
Known for her raspy vocals, confessional lyrics and unapologetic passion for classic rock and R&B, Etheridge has remained one of America’s favorite female singer-songwriters for more than two decades. The multi-platinum artist has released an impressive catalog of critically acclaimed hits, including “Bring Me Some Water,” “Ain’t It Heavy,” “I’m the Only One” and “Come to My Window.” Most recently, Etheridge dropped “One Way Out” (2021), a nine-track album she wrote in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s that brings her journey to rock stardom full circle. Nickel Creek | Tuesday, July 11 at 8 p.m. | Grand Theatre
Nickel Creek has revolutionized folk and roots music since first performing together as children at a pizza parlor in San Diego in 1989, signing to acclaimed roots label Sugar Hill Records after wowing the bluegrass circuit for a decade. Nickel Creek broke through in 2000 with their Grammy-nominated, Alison Krauss-produced self-titled LP, which showcased their instrumental virtuosity and songwriting prowess. The trio quickly followed that effort with the Krauss-produced “This Side,” a landmark release that earned them the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album. Tickets start at $45. Boyz II Men | Friday, July 14 at 8 p.m. | Grand Theatre
The most commercially successful R&B group of all time, Boys II Men, will take the stage at the acclaimed Grand Theatre. Over the years Boyz II Men have collected dozens of awards including four Grammy wins and 11 nominations, nine American Music Awards and three Billboard Music Awards for songs like “One Sweet Day,” “Let It Snow,” “A Song For Mama,” “Pass You By” and “Ribbon in the Sky.” Their 11 studio albums have amassed over 60 million sales. Little Big Town | Saturday, July 16 at 8 p.m. | Grand Theatre
Grammy, ACM, CMA, AMA and Emmy Award-winning group, Little Big Town, took the country world by storm over 20 years ago with their soulful four-part harmonies and interwoven lead vocals. The infectious, upbeat single “Little White Church” (2011) dominated country radio waves and earned Little Big Town a Grammy nomination for Best Country Performance by a Duo/Group with Vocals. The band’s breakthrough albums, ”Tornado” and “Pain Killer” produced multiple No. 1 singles, including “Pontoon,” “Tornado,” and “Day Drinking,” as well as the history-making, best-selling country single of the year “Girl Crush” (2015). Brit Floyd | Tuesday, July 25 at 8 p.m. | Grand Theatre
Considered one of the most successful and authentic Pink Floyd tribute bands of all time, Brit Floyd features world-class musicians, including long-time guitarist/vocalist and musical director Damian Darlington. Having performed over 1,000 shows since its launch in Liverpool, England in 2011, Brit Floyd has circled the globe, selling out countless tours and performing concerts at some of the world's greatest venues. The group meticulously recreates the soundscapes and atmosphere of Pink Floyd’s iconic live shows with a stunning light show, the iconic circular screen, lasers, inflatables, theatrics and note-for-note renditions of classic hits including “Time,” “Money,” “Us and Them” and “The Great Gig in the Sky.” Tickets start at $35. In This Moment and Motionless in White | Wednesday, July 26 at 6:30 p.m. | Grand Theatre
Defined by their ornate, ritual-like performances accompanied by ear-shattering vocals and melodic riffs, In This Moment transcends the ordinary metal show and delivers an unforgettable artistic experience. Their 2007 debut album “Beautiful Tragedy,” featured high-performing singles such as “Daddy’s Falling Angel” and cemented In This Moment as a metalcore cult favorite. Motionless in White blends the raw fury of metalcore with the dramatic atmospherics of goth-metal and industrial, creating a dark and moody sound. Blues Traveler and Big Head Todd and The Monsters | Saturday, July 29 at 8 p.m. | Grand Theatre
Throughout their storied career, Grammy Award-winning Blues Traveler has released 14 albums and played over 2,000 live shows in front of more than 30 million people. Their first three albums, “Blues Traveler” (1990), “Travelers and Thieves” (1991) and “Save His Soul” (1993), were certified gold in the U.S., but the band truly broke into the mainstream with the release of “four” (1994), which featured the smash hits “Run-Around” and “Hook.” Joining Blues Traveler on the Grand Theatre stage is Big Head Todd and The Monsters. Little Feat with The Dirty Dozen Band | Sunday, July 30 at 7:30 p.m. | Grand Theatre
Little Feat’s legendary career spans over fifty years and has produced classic tunes such as “Dixie Chicken,” “Oh Atlanta,” “Willin’,” “Let it Roll,” “Spanish Moon” and “Fat Man in the Bathtub.” Based in Los Angeles, Little Feat leaned into the sounds of California rock while also embracing a traditional blues feel of the deep south. Joining Little Feat is The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, an enigmatic ensemble that fuses the traditional foundation of brass band music with genres like bebop, jazz, funk and R&B. Tickets start at $29.50. Multi-platinum singer/rapper Sean Kingston leans into his Jamaican roots to craft dance-friendly medleys of reggae, R&B and hip hop. He’s best known for hits like “Beautiful Girls,” “Take You There,” “Fire Burning” and his collaboration with Justin Bieber, “Eenie Meenie.” Over the course of his storied career, Kingston has worked alongside an array of industry legends, including Pitbull, Ludacris, Trick Daddy, Gwen Stefani, Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson and many more. Trivia Night feat. DJ Trivia | Every Monday in July at 7 p.m. | Chickie’s & Pete’s
Guests can flex their trivia skills every Monday in July at Chickie’s & Pete’s for a chance to score epic prizes – 1st place will receive $100 dining credit, 2nd place will receive four theatre/concert tickets and 3rd place will receive a $40 dining credit. Admission is free.

Vive Fridays | Every Friday in June | LEX Lounge
Vive Fridays is moving from LEX Nightclub to LEX Lounge for the summer season. The hottest party in town where popular DJs will be spinning today’s hottest Cumbia, Salsa, Bachata and Reggaetón with some classic hits and dance favorites sprinkled in. Doors open at 7 p.m. with beginner-friendly lessons by Gerson Chaves of Tiempo Latin Dance Company starting at 7:30 p.m. The party will continue at 10 p.m. when the nightclub doors open and Latin and top 40 hits play until last call. Admission is free before 7:30 p.m. and $5 for the remainder of the night.

DJ-Hosted Music | Fridays and Saturdays at 9 p.m. | Crystal Lounge
DJ Rekoh Suave and DJ Eyeque will be spinning classic party tunes at the elegant Crystal Lounge every Friday and Saturday in July at 9 p.m. Plus, celebrate Fourth of July weekend with special performances by DJ Rekoh Suave on each night from Friday, June 30 through Monday, July 3. While jamming out to the live entertainment, guests can enjoy lush furnishings and premium bar service. Admission is free.

Rick Hays & American Steel | Saturday, July 1 at 10 p.m.
Based in Reno, Rick Hays & American Steel is a country music dance band known for their high-energy performances. Admission is free.

Steel Breeze | Saturday, July 8 at 10 p.m.
The region’s premier party band will play classic hits and originals that are sure to inspire audiences to get out of their seats to sing and dance along. Admission is free.

Heidi Incident | Saturday, July 15 at 10 p.m.
From the latest hits of today to ‘60s and ‘70s classics to ‘80s rock and dance hits, Heidi Incident delivers and keeps the dance floor packed all night. Admission is free.

Reckless Envy | Saturday, July 22 at 10 p.m.
As versatile as the audience they are performing for, this band is known to perform for a variety of tastes at any given moment. Admission is free.

Infinity Rewards members can win up to $20,000 cash during this special summer drawing. Participants can earn entries beginning Saturday, July 1 at 4 a.m. and will receive double entries each Monday during the promotion. Weekly drawings will take place every Friday and Saturday at 7 and 9 p.m. For each drawing, two selected players will make a decision to either “split” or “steal” their prize. If both contestants choose to split, the whole prize is split equally between them. If one contestant chooses to split and the other chooses to steal, the “stealer” keeps the entire prize and the ‘“splitter” gets $100 free play as a consolation.
