A ten-time Grammy Award-winner, Gladys Knight, also known as the “Empress of Soul,” has exerted a profound influence across R&B, soul, pop and gospel genres. With a career spanning over seven decades, she gained prominence as the lead vocalist of Gladys Knight & the Pips, a family group that produced hits like “Midnight Train to Georgia,” “That's What Friends Are For,” “I Heard It Through the Grapevine,” “The Nitty Gritty," "If I Were Your Woman" and the Grammy-winning “Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye).”

Knight's solo career, which began in the late 1970s, includes albums such as “Miss Gladys Knight” (1978) and “Good Woman” (1991). She continued to dominate R&B charts with hits like “Save the Overtime (For Me)” and “Love Overboard.” Beyond music, Knight ventured into acting, making her debut in the film “Pipe Dreams” and later appearing on TV series like “The Jeffersons” and “Living Single.”

Revered for her resilience and vocal prowess, Knight has left a legendary mark on the music industry. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame alongside the Pips in 2001, she remains an influential figure in soul and R&B. In 2022, Knight received the prestigious Kennedy Center Honor, further solidifying her enduring legacy in the world of music and entertainment. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
