RENO, Nev. (March 9, 2026) – The rhythm of reggae returns to the Grand Sierra Resort (GSR) with the return of Friday Night Reggae at The Pool. Starting May 22, every Friday night will be filled with the sounds of reggae music, delicious island-inspired cuisine and an unforgettable poolside experience.
Kicking off this year’s series, Grammy-nominated Bermudian reggae singer Collie Buddz will perform at The Pool at GSR on Friday, May 22 at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and start at $25. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit grandsierraresort.com or call 1-800-648-3568.
Born in Louisiana and raised in Bermuda, Collie Buddz has become a defining voice in modern reggae, seamlessly blending roots reggae with dancehall, hip-hop and pop influences. Known for his smooth delivery and infectious melodies, he first gained international recognition with a feature on Shaggy’s “Mad Mad World,” before building on that momentum with his self-titled debut album “Collie Buddz” (2007). Featuring breakout hits like “Come Around” and “Mamacita,” the album showcased Buddz’s island-infused sound and crossover appeal, with guest appearances from artists such as Krayzie Bone and Paul Wall.
Buddz continued to expand his global following with a series of EPs, mixtapes and riddims, followed by his next two studio albums, “Good Life” (2010) and “Take It Easy” (2019), both of which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard U.S. Reggae Albums chart. His latest project, “Take It Easy,” further cemented his genre-crossing sound and international reach, earning him his first Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
Every month, Friday Night Reggae at The Pool will feature a major headliner, with Collie Buddz leading the charge. On headliner nights, tickets are $25 per person, while other nights are just $10 per person, making it an accessible and exciting way to enjoy top-tier reggae music. Other acts throughout the summer include Mighty Mystic, Bob Marley Tribute featuring Josh David Barrett of The Wailers and J Ras & The Higher Elevation. A full list of acts will be announced at a later date.
In addition to the live music, attendees can enjoy a variety of food trucks offering a special menu of island-inspired dishes, adding to the tropical ambiance of the evening. For a taste of what's in store, check out the offerings at The Pool.
