RENO, Nev. (Feb. 16, 2023) – Ne-Yo, the three-time Grammy Award-winning R&B hitmaker, iconic songwriter, actor, entrepreneur and philanthropist, is set to perform at LEX Nightclub on Saturday, March 25. Tickets are on sale now and start at $20, plus additional taxes and fees. Doors open at 10 p.m.
Shaffer Chimere Smith, known professionally as Ne-Yo, garnered critical and popular acclaim throughout the 2000s with his slick falsetto, catchy hooks and charged lyricism. The pop-R&B specialist entered the mainstream as a songwriter for Mario’s “Let Me Love You” (2004), which held the No. 1 position on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart for nine consecutive weeks. The single’s success prompted a deal with Deaf Jam Recordings, headed by Jay-Z at the time. Ne-Yo’s debut studio album, “In My Own Words” (2006), debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200, earned a Grammy Award nomination in the Best Contemporary R&B Album category and was subsequently certified platinum by the RIAA.
Following the success of his debut, Ne-Yo released his second studio album “Because of You” (2007) and landed his first Grammy Award as well as another platinum certification – he has since released a string of successful albums with seven of his singles, as well as five on which he appeared as a featured artist, peaked within the Top Ten of the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart. Beyoncé's "Irreplaceable" and Rihanna's "Take a Bow," two of the many songs he wrote for other artists, were smash hits as well. In addition to dominating the music industry, the entertainment mogul boasts an impressive resume of film and television credits, including “World of Dance,” “Empire” and “Stomp the Yard.” Most recently, Ne-Yo released a batch of fresh singles – “Stay Down,” “Don’t Love Me” and “You Got the Body” – paving the way for his eighth album, “Self Explanatory,” which was released in 2022.
