Grand Sierra Resort and Casino puts loose change to good use with new "Change for Charities" program

RENO, Nev. (Sept. 8, 2021) – Guests at Grand Sierra Resort and Casino (GSR) are now able to give back to local Northern Nevada charities while playing their favorite slot games through the resort-casino’s new "Change for Charities" program. When players cash in their slot tickets at property ATMs, they will be given the opportunity to donate the change to their choice of one of four predetermined local charities, which will rotate on an ongoing basis. Each month, the money will be collected and sent to the respective charities.

The first four charities benefiting from the "Change for Charities" program are:

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada: creates and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
  • Food Bank of Northern Nevada: provides food for families in need across northern Nevada and the eastern slope of the Sierra in California.
  • Make-A-Wish Northeastern & Central California and Northern Nevada: creates life changing wishes for children with critical illnesses and is on a quest to bring every eligible local child’s wish to life.
  • The Children’s Cabinet: offers free family counseling program is open to any family or young adult up to 24 years of age and is the only non-profit organization in northern Nevada that consistently provides free family counseling services.
