RENO, Nev. (September 22, 2026) – A Reno holiday tradition returns to Grand Sierra Resort (GSR) this December as Reno Dance Company presents “The Nutcracker” at the Grand Theatre on Wednesday, Dec. 9, and Thursday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m.

Set to Tchaikovsky’s timeless score, Reno Dance Company’s “The Nutcracker” follows Clara and her enchanted nutcracker through a holiday adventure filled with dancing mice, the Land of Sweets and the Sugar Plum Fairy. The production combines classical ballet, colorful costumes and scenery in a family-friendly performance that has become a seasonal tradition in Reno.
For more than 20 years, Reno Dance Company has brought the production to local audiences, featuring professional dancers alongside more than 80 children from the Reno-Sparks area. This year’s two Grand Theatre performances continue the company’s tradition of giving young local dancers the opportunity to share the stage in one of ballet’s best-known productions. Doors open at 6 p.m.
